Sierra is a clear resin sculpture created by Alvin Mak. The inspiration comes from layered mountain landscape. The form is sketched iteratively, then drawn into a computer 3D model. The latter is CNC machined into a foam model, cast and polished into the transparent sculpture. The final clear resin Sierra object warps and bends light into its contour. The aesthetic of the piece varies with the viewing angle and the interior space.
